Why there will not be an IPMS Glasgow show in 2024

For many years IPMS Glasgow has organised a highly successful scale model annual show in various venues around the city.

 

Unfortunately, the Club has decided not to hold a show in 2024. This decision was made at our AGM on 27 November 2023. It was based on a number of factors. One was the increasing cost of hiring a venue and tables. Another was the repeated difficulty in recent years of securing the necessary license from Glasgow City Council in sufficient time to allow the club to publicise the show with confidence that it could actually take place.

 

In any event a license was finally granted very shortly before the 2023  'Modelfest', and the show went well. It was held in the Bellahouston Leisure Centre on 21 October, the first time the event had taken place since before Covid. Fifteen clubs put on displays, as well as half a dozen special interest groups. There was a well-attended competition, and a busy kit swap. Thirteen traders took part.
